Comprehension check

2018 August 01 | by

A structured sentence through which a person seeks to make sure that two or more people share the same knowledge about an event, fact or specific circumstance and its possible meaning. Usually, the object of the comprehension check then forms a common knowledge base. The check is made up of a premise, not always present, the subject being verified and a concluding closed-ended question.

The definitions you find in the glossary claim to be neither exhaustive nor rigorous: they are reported here to help people who want to know more about the meaning of specific terms or topics.
