Goal (motivation and management)

2018 August 01 | by

Aim, intent, purpose a person or business or social organization wants to achieve by implementing one or more actions, which the very goal makes meaningful. It differs from the SMART objective because it may not be specific, time framed or univocally measurable (see NUM objective). For instance, a person may pursue the goal of becoming rich without defining the (specific) measure of desired wealth or the time by which he or she intends to accrue it.

The definitions you find in the glossary claim to be neither exhaustive nor rigorous: they are reported here to help people who want to know more about the meaning of specific terms or topics.
